I am selling a collection of civil war buttons that I purchased a few years back. They came from a collection of a gentleman on the Alabama Tennessee line. I believe that this button is an Civil War coat button for the Confederate navy. This has a Eagle with a anchor in a circle by it and has 16 stars around the button on the face of the button. The shank is present on the back and is in fine shape it says FREBLE GILT ORANGE. This leads me to think it is possibly from orange beach, Al.???? It is dull grayish in color it appears to be old patina or stains on the button. As always selling as is with no reserve. I do not know the buttons age or history only where I aquired it. Check my future auctions for other buttons from this collection. I am no civil war expert but 2 of the buttons I have sold from this collection came back authentic!!!! Use your own judgement!!
